ATHENS: DAILY LIFE IN ATHENS
Working in pairs, create an image on the back of this worksheet that shows what the Ancient city of Athens looked like. Use page pages 68-73 of the text to help you.
The picture could be from above or side on.
At the top of the page you should include a title for the picture that is like a slogan which ‘sells’ Athens as a city to live in or visit.
You will then have to create a short speech pretending you are a tour guide who is promoting the city of Athens and present this to the class taking the class on a virtual tour of your city of Athens.
You must include captions that define each image such as source 2 on pg. 69 and must include the following things, you can also include other things you believe people of Athens should or would have had such as a pool, soccer stadium, etc try to limit it to three extra images:
1. The Agora
2. The Acropolis
3. The Boule
4. The Ecclesia
5. The law courts
6. Food
7. House
Extra. On the corner of your page you can include a map of Ancient Greece marking where Athens is located and major trade routes along the Mediterranean from Athens and you can also highlight other major cities.
